Prof. Jocelyn Celero s University of the Philippines – Asian Center posjetila je 7. i 8. rujna 2026. Institut za istraživanje migracija te se susrela s dr. sc. Andrejom Rudančić, zamjenicom ravnateljice IMIN-a, dr. sc. Irenom Martinović Klarić i dr. sc. Ivom Tadić. Pridružila nam se i Vida Kličko, predstavnica filipinske zajednice u Hrvatskoj, što je omogućilo da se institucionalna i znanstvena suradnja poveže s iskustvima i potrebama same zajednice. 

U središtu susreta bili su postojeći i budući oblici suradnje IMIN-a i University of the Philippines te mogućnosti razvoja dugoročnog institucionalnog i znanstvenog partnerstva kroz razmjenu znanja, zajednička istraživanja i projekte te povezivanje znanstvenog rada s praksom. 

Posebno su razmotrene teme povezane s migracijskim procesima između Filipina i Europe, uključujući migracijske motive i odluke, mobilnost i integraciju, položaj i iskustva filipinskih migranata te načine na koje istraživanja mogu pridonijeti razvoju politika i praksi utemeljenih na znanstvenim spoznajama. 

Veselimo se nastavku suradnje i daljnjem povezivanju Hrvatske i Filipina kroz zajednička istraživanja, razmjenu znanja i dijalog.  

Prof. Jocelyn Celero from the University of the Philippines – Asian Center visited the Institute for Migration Research on 7 and 8 September 2026, where she met with Dr Andreja Rudančić, Deputy Director of IMIN, Dr Irena Martinović Klarić, and Dr Iva Tadić. Vida Kličko, a representative of the Filipino community in Croatia, also joined the meetings, helping to connect institutional and scientific cooperation with the experiences and needs of the community itself. 

The meetings focused on existing and future forms of cooperation between IMIN and the University of the Philippines, as well as opportunities to develop a long-term institutional and scientific partnership through knowledge exchange, joint research and projects, and stronger links between scientific work and practice. 

Particular attention was given to topics related to migration processes between the Philippines and Europe, including migration motives and decision-making, mobility and integration, the position and experiences of Filipino migrants, and ways in which research can contribute to the development of evidence-based policies and practices. 

We look forward to continuing our cooperation and further strengthening the connections between Croatia and the Philippines through joint research, knowledge exchange, and dialogue.
